Born Bobby Lloyd Jones Jr., Yo Gotti grew up in the Memphis projects, where he quickly learned to rely on his wit and resourcefulness to survive. After a stint in jail for robbery, Gotti turned to music as a way to channel his energy and express himself. He released his debut album, "The Letter G", in 2002, but it was his 2009 mixtape, "The Art of Hustle", that started to gain him widespread attention.
