To achieve this, the expansion was recorded in non-traditional spaces, utilizing vintage, modified, and sometimes lo-fi gear that defies standard recording conventions. The result is a collection of drum kits that possess an inherent attitude. The kicks are punchy but booming, the snares crack with metallic or trashy resonances, and the cymbals wash over the mix with dark, complex overtones.
