The story follows Gulrez "Gullu" Qadir, a Hyderabad-based shoe salesgirl disillusioned with the dowry system. After several failed marriage attempts due to high demands, she and her father decide to con a groom to fund her dream of moving to America. Their target is Tariq "Taru" Haidar, a big-hearted chef from Lucknow. However, as Gullu spends time with the genuine and culinary-gifted Taru, her scheme becomes complicated by real emotions.
